Morston Hall is in Norfolk, 2 miles from the coast. It’s an ‘intimate country house hotel’ run by Galton Blackiston and his wife. He’s a Michelin Starred Chef often seen on Saturday Kitchen on BBC1. They have a Michelin Star and 3 AA Red Rosettes amongst a myriad of other awards. So the food must be good then!! Let us know if you’ve been and send a review.
It’s great to know they have accessible rooms! But they don’t advertise this on their website, like so many other places they mention children and pets but not their disabled facilities!!!!!! They should get a BBS PAD – Pictorial access Description !?
Anyway, one disabled room is in the main house and the others are in the new building 100 metres away, where all the rooms are designed to be accessible. They all have wider doors and wet rooms with hand rails.
The restaurant might have a Michelin Star but it lacks a disabled toilet! However the bathrooms are said to be big enough to get a wheelchair in, so you could go with some assistance (but why not just put some grab rails in??). Getting into Morston Hall seems pretty simple with wide doors and flat access.
Morston Hall gets provisional 2 BBS Ticks, but if they just added some grab rails they’d get the maximum 3!!
