Purnell’s is a chic, contemporary restaurant in Birmingham. The Head Chef is Glynn Purnell and his “bold and innovative cooking that has brought him critical acclaim and numerous awards including a Michelin star”. He has appeared many times on The Great British Menu on BBC1.
We haven’t audited them yet but they told us the restaurant is on one level and there are no steps throughout. Unfortunately there is no ramp access to the building but members of staff are happy to help people up the steps!! And they do have a disabled toilet!
Purnell’s gets a provisional 2.5 BBS Ticks
There is also a Purnell’s Bistro with Ginger’s Cocktail Bar (named after Ginger Rogers, so a 30’s theme). They’re also in Birmingham but in the business district. It serves “home-cooking but with an eclectic twist” and the bar serves classic and more outlandish cocktails but in a relaxed Manhattan style, with good music?! There’s three steps into the Bistro and Bar with a bell to ask for help and a fully equipped disabled toilet.
They also get a provisional 2.5 BBS Ticks.
