Here at Blue Badge Style one day just isn’t long enough to celebrate all things wild and wacky, so this year we’re going to be putting on an April Fools’ Week competition! We’re giving away a meal for two to the first person to spot our April Fools’ post. To win the prize all you have to do is identify the fake post and get in contact with us.
When we look around for disability or style related news we’re always finding stories that sound so implausible that we can’t believe they’re true. For instance, who could have imagined that a Cornwall Councillor would say that disabled children should be “put down”, a billionaire would tempt fate by building “The Titanic 2” or the stories going on now that Oscar Pistorius movie scripts started circling “days after his arrest”? They just sound too crazy to be true! But, apparently, they are.
Throughout next week we’re going to be posting news articles about things that, like these stories (although a little bit more upbeat!), sound stranger than fiction but are in fact about genuine events. In amongst all of these weird news posts will be one of our own fake articles. If you can spot this April Fools story, before anyone else, we will reward you with a meal for two, up to the value of £100, at the restaurant of your choice.
We’re going to be posting articles on our website, Twitter feed and Facebook page and the real April Fools could feature on any or all of these locations. So if you want a free dinner you need to keep up to date across the board. Whoever gets in touch first to tell us that they’ve spotted the post which we made up ourselves – by commenting on the post or by emailing or tweeting us – will win the prize.
It’s open to able bodied and disabled alike, the end date is 7th April and our judges’ decision is final. Ideally the restaurant chosen should be BBS approved/stylish and the winners should send us a review of the restaurant once they’ve been. Also, you need to be careful before you contact us because you can only guess once! Although we can’t contact anyone before the end of the competition without giving the game away, any entry after your first one will not be counted.
Good luck trying to weed out the lie amongst the ‘truths’!
