BBC Ouch! is a blog and internet talk show which goes beyond the headlines to reflect disability life. They discuss the things that matter to the less able.
This month, Blue Badge Style’s founder, Fiona, went on to talk to Liz Carr and Rob Crossan about the Blue Badge Style app for the discerning disabled and how being disabled and being stylish can (and should!) go together. They were also joined by the American, Muslim, female comedian with cerebral palsy, Maysoon Zayid who describes herself as a the ultimate minority comedian.
It’s a brilliant programme with a real sense of fun. They discuss disabled fashion, going out in a wheelchair in London and the potential for walking sticks with samurai swords concealed in them!
Fiona, modest as ever, has said “I’ve heard it and I don’t sound too awful”. She added that she sends her thanks to Liz, Damon and Rob for making her feel welcome.
BBC Ouch! is a great way to keep up to date with disability news by listening to their podcast. They also have a blog with more information and a weekly round up of disability related news which we wholeheartedly recommend. We love the show and advise everyone to check it out!
