The Hotel Arts is a luxury hotel on the Barcelona beachfront, built to coincide with the Barcelona Olympics in 1992.

It’s five star hotel in a 44 storey skyscraper of a building which offers spectacular views of the town and the sea. The hotel has terraced gardens right beside Frank Gehry’s ‘golden fish sculpture’ which dominates the views of the hotel’s exterior.

There is a choice of six restaurants and bars to go to. These include the Michelin starred Enoteca restaurant, poolside food in the Marina, tapas at Arola or cocktails in Frank’s bar. There is also a Six Sense Spa on the 42nd and 43rd floors.

It’s a good place for celebrity spotting. According to Gayot.com the hotel has been visited by the likes of Mick Jagger, Cindy Crawford and Eric Clapton. On top of that, when our boss, Fiona, stayed there she saw Ronaldinho!

The disabled access is good. They have suitable disabled rooms with wet room showers and grab rails. There are also disabled toilets in other locations. There is certainly one by the bar but for the large array of other restaurants we are not sure. It is a big space so there are may be difficulties getting from a to b on occasion.

It’s a top hotel with good access and gets 2.5 BBS Ticks.
