The Grill Royal is a super-stylish steak house in Berlin. Huge steaks are sourced from Australia, Argentina and the States.
The restaurant has gained a reputation for attracting people who just come to splash their cash. In a Lonely Planet review it was put forward that ‘a platinum card is a good accessory at this look-at-me temple’. The Louis Vuitton Guide 2011 went as far as to describe the Grill Royal ‘the restaurant people love to hate’. It has been known to attract celebrities and other assorted showoffs. However, the other side to this is that it the restaurant is a very classy place with great food, drink and style.
Timeout named the Grill Royal as one of the top 30 restaurants in Berlin saying:
‘The front of the restaurant commands a view of the Spree and the Pergamon, but the interior is not to be missed. The walls are adorned with art from the owner’s collection, which sits alongside rows of enormous fridges displaying their meaty treasures with equal pride.’
The restaurant has a disabled toilet, attentive staff and is accessible for wheelchair users by using an entrance at the back, near the car park.
The Grill Royal is somewhere everyone seems to have an opinion about. But it can’t be faulted for lack of style and everyone seems to agree that the food is great. As long as you’re not a vegetarian!
The Grill Royal, provisionally, gets a maximum 3 BBS Ticks.
