The Lydmar Hotel is a stylish five-star hotel on the waterfront in Stockholm.

Trip Advisor’s 2012 Traveller’s Choice Awards listed the Lydmar as one of the top-25 hotels in Sweden. It has an informal and relaxed feel to it. They emphasise that the try to create this friendly environment rather than an over-stylised and slightly stuffy atmosphere that some five star hotels may have.

The hotel claims to have a disabled room but, under scrutiny, you find out that this might not be very accessible. The ‘disabled room’ doesn’t have any hand rails in the bathroom so isn’t really very accessible. Certainly not for people travelling alone. The bar and restaurant are accessible though and are stylish too.

The restaurant serves a wide range of European cuisine. It has unpretentious, good quality food and may be worth a visit.

The Lydmar Hotel gets a provisional 2 BBS Ticks because it is stylish even though the hotel itself is not very accessible.
