The Star Inn, in N. Yorks has had some great reviews  and awards (although they seem to have lost their Michelin Star).

The Telegraph said ‘Could anything be more perfect than a meal at this Yorkshire pub?’ It certainly looks like a good old fashioned picturesque pub with it’s thatched roof. The food also looks tasty.

We haven’t been able to visit the Star Inn personally but they say both the old and new restaurants are accessible via ramps. However the ‘old’ restaurant is not as spacious as the ‘new’ and the disabled toilet is in the new part. To get to the bar there is a step down but this is overcome by going out and then in again via ramps.

There is accommodation across the road and there are three accessible rooms, 6,7 &8. Although none have a walk/wheel-in shower.

So accessible in the restaurants and bar but not so much in the rooms. They get a provisional 2.5.BBS Ticks just for the restaurants. The rooms can only get 1.5 as there are no disabled showers.

Been to The Star. Food is excellent. It was a few years ago while they were building the new part, so I accessed the old part of the restaurant via going around outside, all very easy and staff were helpful without being patronising. Would recommend a visit.
