62 Castle Street came recommended as an attractive, luxury, boutique hotel in the centre of Liverpool. It has ‘chilled out chic with cool classics’ as a Grade I Listed Victorian building that used to be a bank.
They have no disabled rooms but the restaurant and bar look interesting. However, there are many stairs so not really accessible without assistance and there is a disabled toilet. I wonder who’s going to use it if they can’t get in. Don’t they know that English Heritage recognise Listed Buildings as heritage for the ‘less able’ as well!!
Within the hotel Merchants restaurant, bar and cocktail lounge looks good and the menu looks interesting with a Gateau of Crayfish, Lemon and Cucumber on the menu. I wil be visiting soon and will point out there are such things a s ‘stairclimbers’ and portable ramps!!
62 Castle Street gets a provisional 1.5 #BBSTicks for style maybe?!
