@venue was a favourite haunt when I worked for SAP in Jermyn St. along with Quaglino’s. I walked with sticks then and both were accessible but Quaglinos had a lot of stairs (with banisters) both to the bar area and the restaurant beneath. Avenue is fine access wise as it’s all on street level.

I frequented the bars in both a lot! Quaglino’s is quite a spectacular building with a grand staircase leading to the large restaurant. This always impressed any customer on a business lunch. The only disadvantage now with a wheelchair is that I can’t get access to the bar and have to enter the restaurant via a service lift. I’m going to tell them about the ‘stair climber’. Avenue in comparison is a light and airy space with interesting art on the walls. The staff in both are helpful as I would expect from the D&D Restaurant Group.

The food is ‘modern British’ but I always go for the buzzing atmosphere more than the food – although it is equally good in both places.

They have disabled toilets in each but I have used neither recently so I can’t say how good they are.

The Avenue gets 2.5BBS Ticks and Quaglino’s gets 2BBS Ticks (only because you can’t access the bar easily and disabled toilets are only on the lower ground restaurant level).
