This review came in from Brian Jensen in 2012:

“Why not go to a place in Thailand with 100 % wheelchair access.
New villa in Hua Hin, 200 km from Bangkok http://www.careresorts.com.
I have been there many times, and I know it’s perfect. There is room for 8-10 person, and 4 of the bedroom/bathrooms are accessible for disabled people, there is also a lift, a pool lift chair, and a 2 person spa that is designed for the disabled.

I’m paraplegic my self, so I know what’s needed for people in a wheelchair, and this place offers the best facilities I have ever seen.

The ticket to thailand costs a little bit more, but it’s very cheap to stay there. So in the end there’s not much difference.”

CareResorts, Thailand, have sent an update for 2016 and it just sounds amazing. I for one can’t wait to try these villas and will put up with a 16 hour flight to get there:

“We have 2 equal built villas which are fully adapted for the stay of elderly or disabled people and not handicapped people can stay also into the luxury villas. Each villa is for 4 persons, has one living room, 2 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms en-suite.

In the middle between the 2 villas (Goolap and Jasmin) is the large swimming pool with electric hoist. Furthermore there is a maids house and an minibus with electric hoist at the backside for day trips and airport shuttle or going to Hua Hin city center.  The website is dated, currently we are working on a new website.  In 2014/2015 the project was upgraded and I built a nurse annex guesthouse, and there’s a careshop, a mobility scooter shop (4 models/24 mobility scooters, 20 scooters for single users and 4 scooters are 2 seaters).

Recently in 2016 the new outdoor kitchen area is finished, here wheelchair users can cook with a Thai chef (Thai cooking class)  there is an adapted drive under bar for 4 wheelchair users and 6 not handicapped people, this area is surrounded by a Pond.

Prices for a stay are between Thai bath 3.800 per night (1 villa) and Thai bath 6.700 per night (2 villas), electricity and water cost are not include, housekeeping, linen, welcome dinner, shopping basket and breakfast on the day after arrival are included.”
