Asia De Cuba at st. Martin’s Lane hotel is a great night out. I’ve been there many times and the food but especially the drinks are great. It serves Asian and Cuban cuisine, as the name suggests ,and it’s served in a ‘sharing-style’. I love the decor of the restaurant and the lively atmosphere. The access is good and there is a disabled toilet, although I’ve never used it for some reason.

I first went to the St. Martin’s Lane hotel to see the Philippe Starck design, which was amazing when I first visited and the style is much copied by other boutique hotels. I have not seen the disabled rooms but I have been assured they have quite a few and you merely book on line and then contact the front desk to ensure that you get a suitable room. I’m amazed they have so many with walk/wheel-in showers with grab rails as well as toilets with grab bars. The room rates are high (£199-£499) but the stay would be amazing!

The hotel is part of the Morgans Hotel Group and I have stayed at The Hudson, one of the New York hotels. This was when I walked with sticks and it was also very disabled friendly as well as  a little ‘wild’ at night in the bar – another story!!??.

As a result Asia De Cuba gets 2.5 BBS Ticks as does St. Martin’s Lane hotel (Provisional for the hotel until I Stay there!!)

This is now upgraded to 3 Ticks as I visited on 19 Jun 2012. The hotel has 10 Disabled Rooms and the restaurant has a lovely disabled toilet. See my post of that date.
