It’s that time of year – I had a birthday! I didn’t know what to do as it was on a Sunday, lunch seemed best. I chose kensington Place as I used to go when I attended a Wine & Spirit Education Trust course around the corner, many years ago. I’ve started to go there again more recently and as the atmosphere is lively and I thought it may be lunch for one, I booked again. I didn’t need to worry it was lunch for 10 by the end of the week.

KP as it is known, was lively and has recently been refurbished. It was clean and airy and thank goodness it was noisy so that our group didn’t stand out! The service is always efficient and understanding, no matter what the provocation from some of my noisier Lieutenants – three of them were there. The food is excellent and specialises in fish. The best dishes were the swordfish starter, the oyster platter and the crab. I also must mention the Isles Flotant which has cubes of deep fried ice cream and a soft meringue in a creme Anglaise – pictured on my Face Book page it was delicious.

The wine flowed and a good time was had by all. Didn’t use the disabled toilet but my nephew took a picture and it appears there is only one grab rail. The entrance is a revolving door but don’t panic there is normal door next to it that they open and provide a portable ramp if required. The staff are great as they don’t make a big deal of the wheelchair and there is plenty of room to manoeuvre.  I really enjoy going there and they get 2.5 BBS Ticks. KP you’re my favourites!

I agree with you Fiona. The service is always friendly and the food is well presented and tasty. I have been to KP many times and have never been disappointed. Great website and I will be logging on regularly to read your reviews.
