I often go to The Almeida Theatre in Islington as I know they have full access, a disabled toilet and a bar. In addition one of my favourite restaurants is opposite, The Almeida , part of the D&D London empire. Again it has a disabled toilet and flat access. The service is helpful and the food is un-pretentious and french in style.
My companion to the theatre is usually Lieutenant No.4 (see the Lieutenant Gallery under My Latest Exploit). The only disadvantage to this particular theatre is the wheelchair space is in the front row, and on our last two visits the plays involved the throwing of drinks between the actors. Needless to say this can be very disconcerting especially as sitting in a wheelchair puts you a good deal higher than the other seats in the stalls. I do get a little nervous but as long as it’s necessary to the plot I don’t mind!?
