At Chiswick House There's a Lake/Stream Which Canbe Tricky to Negotiate in a Wheelchair
At Chiswick House There’s a Lake/Stream Which Can be Tricky to Negotiate in a Wheelchair

“Chiswick house gardens is really lovely, well worth a visit and the cafe is great – very wheelchair accessible, it received three RIBA awards so it would be a good one for the access awards including London Building of the Year….. There is a tarmac path that goes down the centre of the gardens but the other paths are gritty and a little challenging in a manual wheelchair but would be great for your electric chariot but there is a very steep bridge across the stream, although there are other ways around it. The house was closed so we only saw the gardens.”

As of October 2020 the Gardens are open but with COVID safe restrictions (read more here). There are accessible toilets and most areas are accessed via ramps or flat access. The cafe is step free and has a disabled toilet adjoining. For style and attention to accessibility they get 3 BBS Ticks.
