Listing Description

I have used 1901 restaurant ever since the renovation of The Great Eastern Hotel by Conran – it was then called Aurora. The building is beautiful with a wonderful glass dome in the ceiling. It was taken over from Conran by The Andaz Group and has lost none of its appeal. The food is consistently good, modern cuisine and the wine list is extensive. The Sommelier is very good and has known me for some years – mention my name it may help?!

There is a lift at the front entrance at pavement level, which I have been stuck in occasionally – adds to the fun! The disabled toilet is in the foyer bar beside the restaurant. Its snug but very clean – I haven’t tried to get in with my slightly larger wheelchair, but will report back when i do.

I am informed by the hotel that they have disabled rooms with walk-in showers – again I have not yet verified this.

In conclusion this has been my restaurant and bar of choice for meetings in the City. It has never failed to impress, the style is elegant but modern and the staff are very willing to help if needed.
