Every few weeks we write about new things in the disability world – The ‘D’ List. This time we’re looking at transport & mobility:

1ST Supersmith 3Scooter

A new form of 3 wheeled scooter. The 3Scooter is coming in Spring 2026 it uses a patented technology that

‘works to keep you balanced and to reduce tipping. The result is superior control over bumps and kerbs to build confidence, wherever your journey takes you’.

From the look of it you obviously will need a certain amount of core stability (and be not too large??). It’s more for people who can’t walk very far . It’s lightweight, foldable and with a seat that can rise to eye level – something that other scooters don’t do! It looks cool and unobtrusive and much more like a 21st century mobility aid. At £2999 (with VAT exemption), it’s not too expensive for a safer, non-tipping ride!

2ND Fuji Health Treadmills

Advertised as ‘treadmills for the elderly’ the Fuji Health Treadmills also help anyone who’s disabled to maintain their mobility for as long as possible! However you don’t need a traditionally huge, ugly machine in your home – along with other medical disability equipment!! The Fuji versions fold for easy storage with a one push. They have a smart ‘stylish, trendy …minimalist’ design and won a reddot design award in 2023. You can run, walk or stroll at different speeds for and any level of mobility can only improve your mood. They are on sale at the moment and range from  £795 to £1295.

3RD Jorvik Tricycles,

Jorvik Freedom is the result of more than a decade of work and feedback from both customers and stockists, as the new model aims to bridge the gap in the market between a standard tricycle and mobility scooter. The tricycle provides a cross between a recumbent tricycle, electric bike and a mobility scooter, combining power with stability and support. Boasting 16 inch tyres, two air springs, and a rear drive Bafang motor, Jorvik Freedom is a perfect hybrid model for both on and off road cycling.

Priced at £3,749.17 (With VAT Relief) it’s available in black and green. Looks rather military but that fits with an off road capability.

That’s it for now and look out for our October ‘D’ List (It will be on time!!) – any contributions from readers of BBS are welcome) – contact us.
