The Electric Cinema is on Portobello Road, in Notting Hill and is a restaurant and a cinema – both of which are disabled accessible, apparently.
It’s a charming independent cinema – a real joy in a world full of same old multiplex chains. Instead of standard cinema seats, they have armchairs, sofas and even some beds at the front. You can enjoy the film in comfortable surroundings with a cocktail or a glass of wine. All in all, it’s rather better than the average cinema experience.
We haven’t had a chance to get there in order to check the access just yet but we have found out about it through our various ways and means. Although there are steps at the main entrance, there is an alternative way in two doors down the road. Once you’re in, there is flat access, with ramps whenever there are steps. To add to the good disabled access and to make getting through a film easier they have a disabled toilet!
